Chicken Manchurian Recipe
Ingredients:
500 grams boneless chicken, cut into small pieces
2 tablespoons cornstarch
2 tablespoons all-purpose flour
1 egg
Salt to taste
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
1/4 teaspoon red chili powder
1 tablespoon soy sauce
Oil for deep frying
1 tablespoon ginger, finely chopped
1 tablespoon garlic, finely chopped
2 green chilies, chopped
1 onion, chopped
1 green bell pepper, chopped
1 red bell pepper, chopped
2 tablespoons tomato ketchup
1 tablespoon chili sauce
1 tablespoon soy sauce
1 tablespoon vinegar
1 teaspoon sugar
1/2 teaspoon black pepper powder
Salt to taste
Spring onions, chopped for garnish
Instructions:
In a bowl, mix cornstarch, all-purpose flour, egg, salt, black pepper powder, red chili powder, and soy sauce. Add water to make a thick batter.
Dip chicken pieces in the batter and deep fry in hot oil until golden brown. Drain on paper towels and set aside.
In a wok or large pan, heat 2 tablespoons of oil. Add ginger, garlic, and green chilies and sauté for a few seconds.
Add chopped onion, green bell pepper, and red bell pepper and stir fry for 2-3 minutes until the vegetables are slightly cooked but still crunchy.
In a small bowl, mix tomato ketchup, chili sauce, soy sauce, vinegar, sugar, black pepper powder, and salt.
Add the sauce to the pan and mix well with the vegetables. Cook for a minute until the sauce thickens slightly.
Add the fried chicken pieces to the pan and toss to coat well with the sauce. Cook for a minute until the chicken is heated through.
Garnish with chopped spring onions and serve hot with steamed rice.
