Tomato Chutney recipe

 

Ingredients:

4 medium-sized tomatoes, chopped

1 small onion, chopped

2-3 cloves garlic, minced

1 green chili, chopped

1 tsp mustard seeds

1 tsp cumin seeds

1 tsp red chili powder

1 tsp turmeric powder

Salt to taste

2 tbsp oil

Instructions:


Heat oil in a pan over medium heat.

Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.

Add chopped onion and sauté until they turn translucent.

Add minced garlic and green chili, and sauté for another 2-3 minutes.

Add chopped tomatoes, salt, red chili powder, and turmeric powder. Mix well.

Cover the pan and let the mixture cook for 10-15 minutes until the tomatoes are soft and cooked through.

Once the tomatoes are cooked, remove the lid and let the mixture cool down.

Once cooled, transfer the mixture to a blender and blend to a smooth paste.

Transfer the tomato chutney to a serving bowl and serve with your favorite dish.

Your tomato chutney is ready to serve! You can store the leftover chutney in an airtight container in the refrigerator for up to 3-4 days.
