Zunka Bhakri Recipe
Zunka Bhakri
Ingredients:
For Zunka:
1 cup besan (gram flour)
2-3 tbsp oil
1 tsp mustard seeds
1 tsp cumin seeds
1-2 green chilies, finely chopped
1 onion, finely chopped
1 tsp ginger-garlic paste
1/4 tsp turmeric powder
1/4 tsp red chili powder
Salt, to taste
Coriander leaves, chopped
For Bhakri:
2 cups millet flour (bajra atta)
1 tsp salt
Water, as required
Directions:
For Bhakri:
In a mixing bowl, add millet flour and salt. Mix well.
Add water, a little at a time, and knead the dough until it is soft and pliable.
Divide the dough into equal-sized balls and roll them out into thin circles using a rolling pin.
Heat a tawa or griddle over medium heat. Place the rolled-out bhakri on the tawa and cook on both sides until brown spots appear on the surface.
Serve hot with Zunka.
For Zunka:
Heat oil in a pan over medium heat. Add mustard seeds and cumin seeds and let them splutter.
Add chopped green chilies, onion, and ginger-garlic paste. Saute until the onions turn translucent.
Add turmeric powder, red chili powder, and salt. Mix well.
Add besan and mix well to form a smooth paste. Cook for 5-7 minutes on low heat, stirring continuously, until the besan is cooked and turns slightly brown in color.
Garnish with chopped coriander leaves and serve hot with bhakri.
