Apple Puff Recipe (Oven)

Apple Puff Recipe

Ingredients:

2 large apples, peeled, cored, and diced

2 tablespoons unsalted butter

1/4 cup brown sugar

1/2 teaspoon ground cinnamon

1/4 teaspoon ground nutmeg

1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

1 sheet puff pastry, thawed

1 egg, beaten

Powdered sugar, for dusting

Instructions:

Preheat your oven to 400°F (200°C). Line a baking sheet with parchment paper.

In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Add the diced apples, brown sugar, cinnamon, and nutmeg. Cook, stirring occasionally, until the apples are soft and the sugar has melted, about 8-10 minutes. Stir in the vanilla extract and set aside to cool.

On a lightly floured surface, roll out the puff pastry sheet into a rectangle about 1/4 inch (0.6 cm) thick. Cut the pastry into 9 equal squares.

Spoon a tablespoon of the cooled apple mixture into the center of each square. Brush the edges of the pastry with the beaten egg. Fold the pastry over the apple filling, pressing the edges together to seal.

Place the apple puffs onto the prepared baking sheet. Brush the tops with the beaten egg.

Bake for 20-25 minutes or until the pastry is golden brown and puffed up.

Remove from the oven and let cool for a few minutes. Dust with powdered sugar and serve warm.

Enjoy your delicious Apple Puffs!
